Laura Lexx

Laura LexxQuirky, natural Laura Lexx is one of the most effortless comedians making a splash on the UK comedy scene.She indulges her audience with glee and attention, described by GQ as “one of the most delightful performers you’re ever likely to see”, her shows are never the same twice. She appeared at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe with her highly acclaimed debut solo show, “Lovely”.

Laura is a successful live act and gigs regularly at the top clubs around the country. She was selected for the BBC New Comedy Award in 2012 and 2014, and reached the finals of the Paramount Student Comedy Award and Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2009, and Funny Women in 2010. A very versatile comedian, she has gigged in Europe as well as the UK, including several festivals and as tour support for Russell Kane on his Posturing Delivery tour.

Christopher Molineux

Christopher Molineux was educated in Canada and the U.K. and obtained a B.A. at the University of Victoria. He has had over 20 years experience as a stand-up comedian performing at Just for Laughs and working with the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey and Ellen DeGeneres. He has also done voices on the cartoons Inspector Gadget and Madeline and worked as a staff writer at Electronic Arts. Christopher has been working as a public speaking and communication skills coach since 1998 with companies such as LG and TD Canada Trust, he coached the Coca Cola Olympic Torch and Olympic site teams and is currently an official public speaking coach for the C.G.A.’s of B.C.

Jay Hulme

Jay Hulme is a winner of Slambassadors, the UK’s biggest youth poetry slam, and has been chosen to compete in this year’s Roundhouse Poetry Slam. He has been profiled for multiple websites, including the online edition of Dazed and Confused, and his solo poetry collection, The Prospect of Wings, has been sold in 13 different countries. He has performed his work and led workshops across the UK, in schools, festivals, theatres, and other venues.

We are very pleased to welcome back Tina Sederholm and Neil Spokes.

 

Tina Sederholm

Tina Sederholm is a performance poet and raconteur. She has performed all over the country including the Edinburgh Free Fringe, receiving five-star reviews for her solo shows, ‘Evie and the Perfect Cupcake’  and ‘The Good Delusion’.

 

A multiple slam winner, including slams at Swindon Festival of Literature, Cheltenham Poetry Festival and Much Wenlock Poetry Festival, she was Oxford Hammer and Tongue Slam Champion in 2010 and 2014 .

 

Her pamphlets ‘The Velvet Box’  and ‘Let Your Dog Out’ are published by Allographic, and her new show ‘Till Debt US Do Part’ will premiere at Off Beat Festival in Oxford before going on to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.

Neil Spokes

Also joining us will be Neil Spokes a slam winning poet. He’s the current Co-ordinator for Hammer & Tongue in Oxford, and has performed in Edinburgh, Cheltenham, RHS Wisley and various festivals.  He likes hoppy beer and wishes for nothing other than world peace.

 

Chris Horton was commended in the National Poetry Competition 2008 and his poems have been published in several publications including: IOTA,DREAM CATCHER,THE WOLF,MAGMA,FUSELIT and AMBIT. He was a runner up in The Bridport Prize 2009 and has poems in the anthology DAYS OF ROSES and CITY STATE, NEW LONDON POETRY.

 

He has hosted and read poetry at London Docklands Museum, close to where he now lives and works.

 

Abi Cook

Abi Cook is a Brighton based poet and winner of the Slambassadors 2015 National Youth Slam. She has performed at many notable poetry events including Mother Foucault in Bristol and at The Royal Festival Hall in London. Described as “powerful, complex and challenging” by Joelle Taylor, Abi’s poetry will be featured in an upcoming anthology published by Outspoken Press. She aims to liberate the voices of those who feel they do not have one and draws power from her own personal experiences.
