To get to the Beacon Festival you have the following options:

 

By Car:

Watlington Hill Farm is situated at the top of Watlington Hill, Christmas Common, overlooking the town of Watlington. Leave Junction 5 of the M40 and turn towards Stokenchurch. Take the first left on the A40 towards Lewknor. Then take the next left towards Christmas common. Follow this road for approx. 2 miles until you come to a Right turn towards Watlington. Take this turning and you will see Watlington Hill Farm on your right. The entrance to the festival will be signposted.

 

Alternatively, leave the M40 at junction 6, and follow the B4009 towards Watlington. After approx 2 miles, as you enter the town centre, take the first left turn, then bear left past the Spire and Spoke pub, continue up Watlington Hill and, as you reach the top, you will see signs for the festival site on your left.

 

There will be parking on site at the festival but there will be a cost to park a car. Please have £5 ready as to not hold up the queue on arrival.

By public transport:

There are public transport links to the local area and then once in Watlington there will be a bus running up the hill from Watlington Town car park to the festival from 4pm until midnight and midday Saturday until Midnight.

 

The Bus will run about every 20min but please have a Drink at the carriers and catch the next one when it arrives. Donation of £1

 

Oxford to London Tube:

You can get the Oxford Tube coach service which provides a regular service from Oxford city centre or London. This stops at Lewknor, junction 6 of the M40. http://www.oxfordtube.com

 

Lewknor to Watlington Taxibus:

A connect bus also operates between Lewknor and Watlington to meet up with the Oxford Tube.

By Bus:

101 bus service from Oxford to Watlington runs Monday to Friday 8 – 6pm.

BEACON FESTIVAL - BUS timetable

 

We will be running a bus up the hill to the festival again this year thanks to Drivers & Norris, from the car park opposite the Spoke and Spire Pub (behind the Co-Op ) to the Festival and back.

 

It will run

4pm until Midnight on Friday;

Midday - Midnight on Saturday.

The bus is slightly smaller than in previous years so during peak times it may take a little longer.

 

The bus will leave when full (ish) and return. Do have a drink in the Spoke and Spire (pub) in case in peak times, it is a little longer than expected.

 

£1 each way for an adult - free for u16 but (must be accompanied by an adult)

 

Carpark is £5. We may expect it to be full at points during Saturday afternoon, so please do use the bus service.
